Apple, Apple, Apple, Beer.

I cannot believe how long the warmth is staying in Portland! Is this normal?! Why wasn’t I here sooner!? I’ve always felt like fall weather in Chicago was so fleeting. You might get a week of slightly cool weather, the leaves would change, and then suddenly a ghastly wind would turn up and RIP ALL THE LEAVES OFF THE TREES. Then it would snow.
This weekend should be full of fun things. Yesterday, Ktams and I traveled to Smith Berry Barn and purchased a bushel of Jonathan apples (that’s around 40 lb for you non-apple eaters). It’s going to be applesauce galore in this house today, let me tell you! And once we get tired of turning the food mill we might make a crisp or two. Tomorrow we will be meeting up with another Illinois Alumni transplant (I-L-L!) and attending Portland’s Fresh Hops Fest!
Sunday I just plan on kicking back and eating a ton of applesauce. Oh…and have I mentioned that WE ARE MOVING in two weeks? So knowing my luck–packing will commence. Joy.
Have a great weekend and if you’re in the Portland area get to the Hops Fest! Find me! We’ll clink glasses and drink to the wonderment that is craft beers!

SE Portland just south of Sellwood. It’s in that weird “is it Portland? Or is it Milwaukie?” area lol

That’s a lot of apples!! I think the Oregon Nursery Co apple festival is coming up soon, too…. I really wanna go apple and pear picking! There’s a place in Hillsboro, Jossy Farms, that has them for $0.90/lb that I’ve been to before. Yummmmmm.
