Have you ever had a Hot Toddy?
Let me tell you–I cannot think of a better liquid to soothe a sore throat! If you’ve never had one you can find some of the best recipes at TheKitchn.
The recipe (borrowed from TheKitchn) looked like this:
Hot Toddy
Ingredients
- 2 ounces bourbon whisky
- 1/2 lemon, juiced (about 2 ounces)
- 2-4 ounces water (optional)
- 1 tablespoon honey
Method
Mix the bourbon, lemon juice, and water (if using) in a small saucepan and heat for about 45 seconds. Take out and add the honey. Whisk to combine, then cook for another 45 seconds.
Like this one? TheKitchn has done 7 Days of Hot Toddies that’s kind of got me excited if I can’t kick this cold today.

Delish… I’m pretty much a fan of anything with whiskey. 😉
Like Jenni, I’m pretty much a fan of whiskey and if having a sore throat warrants drinking some (especially warmed!) I’m thinking there’s actually a silver lining to the winter cold! Going to have to try this when the tickling sets in.
Maybe if I would have tried this my cold would not have laster 12 days!
