I wanted to share something we found at Portland State Market this summer–this is Strawberry Habanero Goat Cheese Spread by Dee Creek Farm. It’s light and fluffy in texture and really gives off more of a strawberry taste. I think I would end up using this entire container on a bagel so it’s probably best we don’t keep any breads in the house. It reminded me a little of the Salt & Straw Marionberry Habanero Ice Cream AND the habanero beer I had at Bailey’s Taproom (cannot find the name of it to save my life! Argh.). It also points out the obvious–I have been enjoying quite a lot of habanero flavored foods this summer! My question to you is:
Would you ever try anything flavored with habaneros?
Habanero is not a mild pepper, but if used well, it really imparts a slight almost savory bite. I, for one, am a very obvious fan. I’m interested to hear what you think!
Also! I figured out how to make blog buttons yesterday! SO if you are a fellow blogger and would like to trade buttons let me know! (see the sidebar for The Spicy Bee’s button).

I bet my husband would love this! He’s the chef in our family and is always trying new things – thanks for the great find!
Wow, what a combination! Before I cut out dairy entirely, I used to love goat cheese. Not too fatty or greasy, great flavor. I bet my husband would love this combo–he likes spicy stuff like that, although actually I loooove spicy flavors mixed with sweet!
I’ve tried the Salt & Straw flavor before and liked it… and usually I am not a huge Habanero fan. (I love spice… the flavor just doesn’t sit the best with me).
I bet the goat cheese would make an awesome crostini though!
