Consider This a Run-by Fruiting!

I’m developing an obsession with grapefruit! Having come from the Midwest  I wouldn’t even touch a grapefruit without at least a tablespoon of sugar on top (judge me!)–and since Ktams is an avid grapefruit fan, for Christmas I had family get him a set of grapefruit spoons and a grapefruit knife. I thought the knife looked pretty useless and the prep looked too high maintenance until I started doing it myself. Now it’s practically an addiction!

Now if you take medications you may need to be wary of this fruit, but for those of us med free this makes one heckovabreakfast treat! (BTW sorry Ktams–we’re out! I ate the last one this morning). I’m so bad 🙂
I continue to be amazed at what the pacific northwest has to offer for produce through the winter. Now I’m not going to tell you this is an organic, grassfed, vegan, locally grown grapefruit (blasphemy!), but  I can take solace in the knowledge that New Seasons uses ethical purchasing methods (to my knowledge) and still secures some killer sales on grapefruit.

As for those of you who don’t like grapefruit…

    I LOVE lemons – I would eat them everyday if I could. I had half of one last night for dessert!

    I love grapefruit but I always seem to forget about them. I should add them to my shopping list! 🙂

    I’m going to have to get me a grapefruit or two and start embracing the citrus.
