Wednesday Wrap Up {Sponsored Post}

{This is a review of events that The Spicy Bee is sponsored by. I did not pay for any of the below food or other offerings.}

There are so many events squeezing themselves in before the holidays hit! Here’s an idea of where I’ve been just in the last week or so, and where I’m going:

Where I’ve been

This last week has been full of amazing food. Last Wednesday Portland Bloggers and Little Green Pickle hosted a Holiday Mingle event, which went swimmingly! I plan on sharing many more pictures of the event later this week, but first I want to send a huge THANK YOU to all the PR Firms and restaurants in attendance! Vendors included: Water Ave Coffee (Facebook Twitter), Double Dragon (Facebook Twitter), Olympic Provisions (Facebook / Twitter), Tails & Trotters (Facebook / Twitter),  The Original (Facebook Twitter), Besaw’s (Facebook / Twitter), The Bent Brick (Facebook Twitter), Departure (Facebook / Twitter), and   Fishpeople (Facebook / Twitter).
PR Panel included: Carrie Welch – Little Green Pickle (Facebook / Twitter), Meaghan Burns – Broussard Communications (Facebook / Twitter), Lisa Hill – Lisa Hill PR (Facebook / Twitter), Heather Jones – Heather Jones Consulting (Facebook / Twitter), and Vicky Hastings – Maxwell PR (Facebook / Twitter). I am still in disbelief that we actually TRENDED on TWITTER that evening! So cool. For those curious, this event was to give bloggers the opportunity to meet with local PR agencies and (for this event) the clients of Little Green Pickle. We hope to plan many more in the future!

As if that event wasn’t enough for my week, the next night I was out to dinner with Jody Schreffler at Cyril’s at Clay Pigeon Winery for some amazing wine and comfort food. This restaurant caught me off guard because what I thought was a wine bar with a few nibbles was actually a full on restaurant nestled next to their urban winery. The biggest surprises of the evening were definitely the fennel ice cream and the stellar winery tour owner Michael gave to us while we sipped! I highly suggest checking out this unsuspecting little restaurant in SE Portland.

Earlier this week I also attended a Trophy Cupcakes event at Baker & Spice in SW Portland. There Jennifer Shea, owner of Trophy Cupcakes, introduced her newest book Cupcakes & Parties, and demoed some serious cupcake sculpting skills! The house was packed for this interactive event, and I was happy to lend a hand with both frosting…and eating cake 🙂

Where I’m going

Tonight I’m headed to Serrato for a delicious evening.

Next week I’m headed to Imperial for a lovely gluten-free evening! This Sunday means a super fun Zombie Brunch with The Original–I’m thinking of going as a zombie Red Riding Hood 🙂 In a few weeks I will be joining a fun group at Sumo+Sushi–which still has tickets available if you love both Japanese cuisine and sumo wrestling (how can you not?!)

What have you been up to?
